Rallying for Justice
At
the Navy Memorial in Washington, D. C.,on September 24th,
IBEW officers and staff were part of the thousand-plus
group of union leaders and activists, who rallied to show support
for the Avondale Shipyard workers. This shipyard has the worst health
and safety record of any U.S. shipyard receiving Navy contracts.
These workers, who put their lives on the line daily, voted to form
a union five years ago, and are still waiting for the company to
begin negotiations on their first contract.
