The

The Best of the Third
IBEW
Photo Contest
November 1998 IBEW Journal
From a field of 270 entries, the judges of the third IBEW
Photo Contest have selected the best of the crop.
The winning entry, pictured on the cover of this issue, was submitted
by Edwin Lopez, a Business Representative from Local 3, New York,
New York. The judges felt that this photograph captured up close
the skills IBEW members display wherever they work, even
on the span of a bridge high over the water.
The judges for this years contest were: Kenneth Edwards,
Director of the IBEWs Research and Technical Services
Department and an accomplished photographer; Susan Phillips, Secretary-Treasurer
of the International Labor Communications Association (ILCA) and
a Vice President of the United Food and Commercial Workers; and
Carol Cipolari, Supervisor, IBEW Journal and Media Relations
Department.
The Journal thanks all members who submitted photographs
for this years contest. As usual, many of the entries captured
the spirit of the IBEW and the pride our members take in
their work.
