Brother Dunlop came to the International Office in 1970 as an analyst in the Research Department following a stint in the U.S. Army, and serving in Vietnam from 1969 to 1970. He was initiated into IBEW Local 90 in New Haven, Connecticut, in 1980. He was appointed International Representative in 1988, when he was assigned to the Employee Benefits Department. There he was responsible for coordinating IBEW efforts related to comprehensive national health care reform. He served on the Labor Research Advisory Committee to the U.S. Department of Labor, the Labor Advisory Committee for Trade Negotiations and Trade Policy for the Department of Labor and the AFL-CIO Health Task Force. Brother Dunlops father, Chester Dunlop, 79, is retired past president of Local 90 and a 56-year veteran of IBEW. A triathlon and marathon competitor, Brother Dunlop volunteers with Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. The IBEW officers, staff and members wish Brother Dunlop, his wife, Susan, and son Michael a happy and healthy retirement.
Tennessee native Brother Duncan was initiated into Local 1749, in New Johnsonville, Tennessee. A unit operator for Tennessee Valley Authority fossil fuel plant, he served as Local 1749 vice president, president and acting business manager. He was appointed to what was then the Twelfth District office in 1989. Brother Duncan served on the Local 1749 Wage Data Survey Committee and the Schedule D Subcommittee of the Tennessee Valley Trades and Labor Council, where he represented operating personnel. From 1979 to 1991, Brother Duncan was a member of TVA Retirement System Board of Directors. He served in the United States Navy from 1957 to 1961. He retires to Buffalo, Tennessee, where he plans to relax and travel occasionally. IBEW staff and members wish Brother Duncan and his wife, Jane, a long and healthy retirement.
In 1957, Brother Hunter was initiated into Local 302, then located in Richmond, California, and now based in nearby Martinez. A journeyman wireman, he served as assistant business manager before his election as business manager/financial secretary. He also served on the Local 302 Health, Welfare and Pension Trust Committee and the Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee. Outside Local 302, he was active in the Contra Costa Building Trades. In 1987, he was appointed International Representative in the Ninth District where, aside from his organizing responsibilities, he serviced four locals and advised district locals on the voice-data-video industry. A native of the San Francisco Bay area, Brother Hunter attended Contra Costa Junior College and the George Meany Center for Labor Studies. The International Officers, staff and members of the IBEW congratulate Brother Hunter and wish him and his wife, Carol, a wonderful retirement.

After
more than 31 years of service in the IBEW, Dale M. Dunlop retired
on March 1, 2002, from his position as Executive Assistant assigned
to the International Secretary-Treasurer. He served as Executive
Assistant since 1994.
A
33-year career with the IBEW comes to a close with the March 1,
2002, retirement of Jerry D. Duncan, Tenth District International
Representative serving Chattanooga, Tennessee, IBEW members in Locals
175 and 311.
John
A. Hunter retired March 1, 2002, after more than 40 years as an
IBEW member. A Ninth District International Representative, he coordinated
organizing efforts in Northern California and Northern Nevada.
