Labors
top leaders turned out in force to wish IBEW International President
Emeritus J. J. Barry a fond fare-you-well at his retirement dinner
March 28 at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington.
In all, about 1700 people were present to hear AFL-CIO President
John Sweeney, John M. Grau, Executive Vice President of NECA, Robert
A. Georgine, former president of the Building and Construction Trades
Department AFL-CIO, and others recount President Barrys many accomplishments.
International President Ed Hill, serving as the master of ceremonies,
praised Barry for his vision, leadership, and dedication to the
IBEW and the labor movement.
